Georgian, Israeli Defense Ministries Deepen Cooperation

The Georgian and Israeli Ministries of Defense have signed a memorandum for deepening relations in the defense sphere, which envisages stronger cooperation in various areas, including military education, military reserve and mobilization systems.

The memorandum was signed by Defense Minister of Georgia, Levan Izoria, and his Israeli counterpart, Avigdor Lieberman, during Izoria’s official visit to Tel-Aviv.

In the frames of the official visit to Israel, Levan Izoria presented planned and already implemented initiatives and reforms in the Georgian Military sphere, with a particular focus on the reform of the military reserve.

After the meeting, the Georgian minister noted that a working group will be formed, where Georgian and Israeli representatives will work together and Georgians will learn about the Israeli experience in reserve and mobilization systems, as well as the methods of civil defense teaching in secondary education institutions.
