Breakaway Abkhazia, S. Ossetia Congratulate Putin on Becoming President
De facto presidents of Georgia’s breakaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Raul Khajimba and Anatoly Bibilov have congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin with re-election for the fourth term.
The inauguration ceremony of the Russian President took place in Kremlin on May 7.
In his letter to Putin, Raul Khajimba said that the relationship between Russia and occupied Abkhazia will be further strengthened in the future.
“Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich. Accept my sincere congratulations on assuming the presidency of the Russian Federation. The wise choice of the Russian people once again confirms their confidence in the course chosen by you, aimed at the further development of a defensible, economically strong and stable state,” occupied Abkhazia’s leader stated.
Meanwhile, Bibilov stated that the breakaway region appreciates the attention from the Russian Federation.
“On behalf of the people of the Republic of South Ossetia and myself, I have the honor to send you the warmest and most sincere congratulations on your official assumption of the office of President of the Russian Federation,” Bibilov’s address reads.
Vladimir Putin has become the Russian president for the fourth time. He will head the country for the next 6 years.
Russia's presidential elections were held on March 18. Putin received 76.66% of the votes (more than 56 million).
