In March, the Georgian PM also congratulated former PM and the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan on becoming Prime Minister against a background of large-scale protest rallies by the population. However, as the developments escalated in Armenia, Sargsyan quit his post on April 23.
Nikol Pashinyan was the sole PM candidate and was approved to the post on May 8.
