Saakashvili Says Ivanishvili's Son "Attacks' Church in His New Song
Ex-President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, whose United National Movement (UNM) was defeated by Bidzina Ivanishvili’s Georgian Dream (GD) in the 2012 parliamentary elections, claims the billionaire’s son, Bera Ivanishvili “attacks” the Georgian Orthodox Church in his new song, released on May 8.
Saakashvili took to Facebook to criticize Bera, pop, hip hop and R&B artist, whose song slams the former UNM government and depicts the current problems in the country.
“I remember several meetings with Ivanishvili when he was very aggressive about the Church and the Patriarch. Now his chief speaker expresses this in his rap song. Ivanishvili’s aim is to weaken and discredit all state institutions and the Church is among the top targets,” Saakashvili’s post reads.
The ex-President shared the video clip on his Facebook page, claiming the father of the song writer dreams of becoming the President of Georgia.
“This dream will not come true and it won’t become a new nightmare of the Georgian nation,” stated Saakashvili.
