GNM, National Geographic Georgia to Hold Museum Forum
The Georgian National Museum (GNM), along with National Geographic Georgia, are to hold a Museum Forum in Tbilisi on May 29.
The event will take place in the courtyard of the S. Janashia Museum of Georgia, 3 Shota Rustaveli Avenue, Tbilisi, and will be free of charge for every visitor.
“A museum is a space which belongs to all of us and its door is always open – especially for young people,” the National Museum reports.
The Museum Forum represents a brand new speaking platform as a scientific-educational institution. The platform will introduce speakers who will share their experiences, talk about their visions and approaches and announce future plans or projects.
“We intend to create a pleasant space for sharing knowledge and experiences in an informal setting, with an entertaining music program,” the event organizers say.
The Forum speakers are:
- David Lordkipanidze – Georgian National Museum
- Giorgi Chogovadze – Georgian National Tourism Administration
- Antonio Enrico Bartoli – Italian Embassy to Georgia
- Mikheil Batiashvili – Business and Technology University
The event is connected to the world celebrated International Museum Day. According to ICOM (International Council of Museums) this year’s theme is “Hyperconnected Museums – New Approaches, New Public.”
