1920s Reenactment in Kutaisi for 26th of May
As part of the celebration of Georgian Independence Day on the 26th of May, the city of Kutaisi will hold an event reenacting the 1920s in honor of the 100th anniversary of Georgia's declaration of independence. In 1918, Georgia declared its independence from the Russian Empire.Kutaisi was the intellectual capital of Georgia, and many of the nations founding fathers came from Kutaisi.
Saturday will see a series of events across the country, including in the capital, where Rustaveli Ave will be closed to vehicle traffic and lined with vendors and entertainment.
The 1920s event in Kutaisi will proceed along the following schedule:
12:00 – 20:00 Central square and Paliashvili street
Exhibition of military equipment
12:00 -20:00 Location adjacent to the Public School #1
• Photo exhibition dedicated to the 100-th anniversary of First Republic of Georgia
12:00 – 17:00 In front of the Public School #1
• Classical music performed by a string quartet
• Open cafes offering pastry
12:00 20:00 Location adjacent to “Tetri Khidi (“White Bridge”)
• Trade-exhibition of handmade accessories and craft
• Exhibition of local entrepreneurs’ production
• Flowers trade-exhibition
12:00 – 17:00 Location adjacent to Mon Plaisir Arch
• Exhibition 'The graduates of St. Nino’s Gymnasium, that have changed the history of Georgia'
• Open air cinema
• Informational tour – “Touristic Kutaisi”

• Performance “The Story of the Blue Horns” (The Union of Georgian symphonist poets and writers) with the participation of actors of the Meskhishvili Theater
