Georgian PM Congratulates Azerbaijan on Independence Day
Georgian Prime Minister, Giorgi Kvirikashvili congratulated Azerbaijan on its 100th anniversary from the establishment of its First Republic.
“I would like to warmly congratulate you, Mr. Ambassador and the people of Azerbaijan. This is a special day. Both our countries celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the creation of the first democratic republic this year,” Kvirikashvili addressed the Ambassador of Azerbajan Dursun Hasanov at the special reception held in Tbilisi on May 28.
According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, a peaceful and stable region is crucial for strategic projects that are jointly implemented by Georgia and Azerbaijan.
“Azerbaijan is one of the largest investors and trade partners of Georgia and this dynamism is steadily growing. Close economic and cultural ties make the basis of our more solid cooperation. Today, our countries work together on large and ambitious transport and energy projects, which in the near future will completely change the region, its dynamism and its international importance,” the PM claimed.
The PM congratulated the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his family and the Azerbaijani people on the 95th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev. Giorgi Kvirikashvili wished Azerbaijan peace.
“I congratulate you once again on the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Azerbaijan and I wish to the friendly Azerbaijani people peace, prosperity and success,” Georgian PM.
The reception was attended by the diplomatic corps, invited guests and members of the Cabinet, including Georgian Foreign Minister and Vice-Premier, Mikheil Janelidze, who took to twitter to congratulate Azerbaijan on its independency.

Georgia celebrated 100 years of the First Democratic Republic on May 26.
