“We will continue supporting Georgia, which has all the tools needed to become a member of NATO,” Jens Stoltenberg said in Warsaw while attending the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

He was asked by the acting head of the Georgian delegation, Irakli Beraia, what the deliverables of the upcoming Brussels Summit will be with regard to Georgia.

"What should the Georgian people expect – will the next summit take our country one step closer to our ultimate goal which is NATO membership?” Beraia asked, after speaking about Georgia’s sizable contribution to NATO operations through which the country has proved that it can take on the responsibility of collective security.

Stoltenberg replied that NATO is going to continue providing support to Georgia which has all the tools needed for membership, including the national annual plans and the NATO-Georgia commission.

"We have not decided all the elements and all the formats of the summit, but I am absolutely certain that allies will find a way at the summit in July to recognize the progress Georgia is making,” he replied, expressing his gratitude towards the country for the "very important and significant” contributions Georgia is making to NATO operations and missions.

As Stoltenberg pointed out, Georgia is one of the biggest nations when it comes to providing troops for the NATO mission in Afghanistan.
