Kutaisi Comes out in Support of Tbilisi Protests

A protest movement has begun in support of Zaza Saralidze, father of the murdered Davit, in Kutaisi and has moved from the city's central square to the new Parliament building.

Participants of the rally are increasing in number. They demand the resignation of the government which, they claim, has failed to fulfil its promises.

Two 16-year old schoolboys, Levan Dadunashvili and Davit Saralidze from Tbilisi Public School 51, were brutally killed during a street brawl in the city center on December 3, 2017. Davituliani died on the scene while Saralidze was taken to the hospital and died the next day.
The Tbilisi City Court ruled the defendants were "partially guilty" for the murders of teenage victims. According to Judge Eka Areshidze's decision, G.B, who was accused of Levan Dadunashvili and Davit Saralidze's murder, was only found guilty for the murder of Levan Dadunashvili. The court rectified charges against GG for the murder of Davit Saralidze, amended to 'guilty of the attempted murder of Saralidze.' The sentence will be determined tomorrow. No-one was named as guilty for Davit Saralidze's murder.
