14:00 Meeting With PM
The Prime Minister set up a meeting to discuss the case of Davit Saralidze, a teenager killed last December on Khorava Street, Tbilisi.
Public Defender Nino Lomjaria went to the government administration to participate in the discussion. According to Lomjaria, representatives of political parties are to also to attend the meeting today.
Malkhaz Machalikashvili, father of Temirlan Machalikashvili who died in January in a special operation in Pankisi Gorge, and the lawyer of Zaza Saralidze (father of Davit), also came to the government administration along with Zaza, who said he would not meet the Prime Minister alone.
It is expected that a decision willbe made regarding the format of the meeting within an hour.
Saralidze noted that media representatives would leave microphones and cameras to join the meeting with the Prime Minister.
"Do not bring ultimatums. Here, I am not talking about my son alone. On our side is Malkhaz Machalikashvili and other parents. I have been waiting for 6 months. Now is not the time for ultimatums,” stated Saralidze.
A temporary investigative commission set up in connection with the murder case will be headed by the representative of the parliamentary minority "European Georgia," Vice Speaker Sergi Kapanadze, and of 17 seats, will see 9 members of European Georgia and the remainder majority party members.
As it is known, the faction "National Movement" is not going to participate in the work of the mentioned commission.
