Opposition Party Members Detained

Nika Melia, Irakli Nadiradze, Levan Khabeishvili and a "dozen colleagues" have been detained by police, claims Zaal Udumashvili, a member of the United National Movement.

"Nick Melia was bundled into a car and taken away in front of us," he added, claiming Ministry of Internal Affairs officials were seated inside the car that took the ex-Mayoral candidate and UNM politician away, apparently wanting to "question" him.

It is believed the arrests come in connection with the deliberate generation of disorder at the recent political rallies on Rustaveli Avenue regarding the teen murder case.
