Crystal Sponsors Reception for Georgian Start-Ups in London
On June 14, Crystal and Crystal Fund arranged a reception at the House of Commons in London. The main theme of the event was UK-Georgia technology, trade and investment cooperation.
The reception was hosted by Mr. Fabian Hamilton MP, a Shadow Minister for Peace and Disarmament, and supported by the Embassy of Georgia in the United Kingdom. The event brought together young Georgian entrepreneurs with members of both Houses of Parliament, international investors, representatives of civil society, and media.
The group of young innovators took part in the “Startup Grind Europe” forum. The visit was supported by the Ministry of Economic and Sustainable Development, “Produce in Georgia,” Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency, the UK Embassy in Georgia, and “Startup Grind” Chapter in Georgia. Georgian startup VREX presented its state-of-the-art virtual reality application for Georgian tourism.
Apart from business cooperation, Crystal supports the diverse relationship between the United Kingdom and Georgia, including deepening cultural ties. As part of the House of Commons event, a Georgian Choir from Bristol performed polyphonic Georgian national songs.
Crystal’s Executive Chairman Archil Bakuradze said: “We are delighted that young startup entrepreneurs have the opportunity to demonstrate their innovative business models to interested investors, acquire fresh knowledge as well as leadership experience. Such events are crucially important for manifesting Georgia to the British public and decision-makers not only as a nation with remarkable culture and history, but also as a growing modern economy and society, which has the bright future and can become a global participant in technological innovation”.
