Tbilisi Run Promotes Healthy Lifestyle

By the initiative of Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, the Tbilisi Run took place in the capital of Georgia on June 24.

The participants of the event covered the distance from Vake Park to Freedom Square in order to promote healthy lifestyle.

Mayor Kaladze, who is a former footballer of Milan AC, also ran with the participants, saying it is important to show the youth that a healthy lifestyle is necessary.

“This marathon is not the only healthy event. We will offer a variety of sporting events to all the people, in order to show them how important sport and a healthy life is. I am glad that so many people came to the event - the youth, elderly and middle-aged,” he stated.

Parliament Speaker, Irakli Kobakhidze, the Leader of the parliamentary majority, Archil Talakvadze, deputy mayors, governors of different districts of Tbilisi, members of the government and the city council, President of Football Federation, Levan Kobiashvili, and professional athletes participated in the runway together with the Mayor of Tbilisi.
