First Deputy Justice Minister Resigns

The First Deputy Minister of Justice Georgia, Alexandre Baramidze, has resigned from his post. After the approval of the new cabinet of ministers, deputy ministers were re-appointed to their posts, however, Baramidze was not appointed as first deputy justice minister. He was replaced by Mikheil Sarjveladze, a former deputy minister in the Ministry of Justice.

According to InterPressNews, Mikheil Sarjveladze said that Baramidze left the Ministry on a mutual agreement between himself and the Minister of Justice.

Baramidze's resignation comes amid a change in government that has seen and will continue to see the transition of many high appointed officials. New Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has replaced much of the cabinet of former PM Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
