Kazakh Citizen Extradited

Georgian law enforcers carried out the extradition of an individual wanted by Kazakhstan on June 24, announced Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

A citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been wanted by Astana Interpol since September 8, 2014 and is accused of robbery and murder.

The Kazakh citizen was detained in Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi on June 11 on the territory of the former parliament building when he was joining in a demonstration that was taking place on Rustaveli Avenue at that time. The Kazakh resisted the law enforcers and was detained.

The Tbilisi City Court sentenced the detainee to a 10-day detention, after which the Chief Prosecutor's Office resumed his extradition procedures.

On June 24 he was extradited from Georgia via Tbilisi International Airport.
