Soros NGO'er with the Veto Right

A PM from Georgian Dream, Tamaz Mechiauri said yesterday how he blames Bidzina Ivanishvili for letting a member of some Soros NGO to drop knitting sticks and grating him with the veto right. The Chairman of the Parliament's Finance and Budget Committee pointed at Georgian President Margvelashvili at the plenary session yesterday discussing the President’s Veto over the bill on the National Bank.

Representatives of the presidential administration, who attended the session in Kutaisi, assessed the statement as unethical and improper. “Observance of ethics and culture in parliamentary life is desirable and even necessary from any person, especially from an MP, - Giorgi Kverenchkhiladze President’s Parliamentary Secretary cited.

According to Mechiauri, the Lari exchange rate is used by opposition for fueling protest in the population against the government.

During the last few months, Georgian Lari has dramatically depreciated, leading the government to accuse the National Bank (NB) of inactivity. This was the reason why GD tried to pass a bill to take a supervision function from the NB, which was vetoed by the President.
