Georgian President Visits Ankara

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili paid an official visit to Ankara on July 9, where he attended President Erdoğan’s inauguration ceremony along with heads of 21 states.

Margvelashvili congratulated the Turkish colleague on victory in the elections. The Georgian delegation discussed issues related to the NATO Summit during its communiqué with Turkish officials. It was emphasized that Turkey is a strong supporter of Georgia's integration into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

After the inauguration of the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan hosted Giorgi Margvelashvili and the delegations at the official dinner in the frames of the ceremonial events.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan won the presidential polls on June 23, extending his 15-year grip on power.
