South Korea Eases Visa Regime for Georgians
Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) reports that the South Korean authorities have made a decision to simplify the visa regime for citizens of Georgia who hold ordinary passports.
As a result of the new regime, the citizens of Georgia will be able to obtain multiple-entry Korean visas, valid for 1-5 years which will be issued for persons having higher education and representatives of various private sector spheres such as heath.
The MFA underlined that before that, Georgian citizens used to get a maximum one year, single-entry Korean visas.
“The number of visa documents to be sent to the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Korea will be significantly reduced and the period of stay in Korea will be increased from 30 to 90 days,” the statement of the ministry reads, adding the new type, multiple and long-term visas will facilitate the cooperation of Georgian businessmen with Korean partners and will also positively affect tourism development.
