Georgian President Meets Viktor Orbán
Within the framework of NATO Brussels Summit, Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili met Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary.
The sides discussed Georgia’s progress achieved in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration and security challenges facing the country.
Margvelashvili thanked Viktor Orbán for supporting the non-recognition policy of Georgia’s occupied territories and taking part in the EU Monitoring Mission, also for showing firm support for Georgia at the meeting focusing on NATO-Georgia-Ukraine relations, highlighting that this support is of utmost importance to fast-track Georgia’s NATO accession.
It was noted that Hungary shares NATO’s position according to which Georgia has all the necessary tools to be prepared for the NATO membership.
It was underlined that Georgia attaches great importance to the opportunity opened up by the Hungarian Government that enables Georgian students to get European education in leading universities in Hungary.
The importance of intensifying high-level exchange visits to further advance bilateral relations between the two countries was also underlined.
