Federica Mogherini Meets Armenian PM
High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, met Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan and discussed EU-Armenia bilateral relations.
The Delegation of the European Union to Armenia reports that Mogherini confirmed her and the European Union's strong support for the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“In this context it is vital that the sides engage fully in negotiations without preconditions, under the auspices of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs,” says the statement issued by EU External Action.
Pashinyan also met with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
The sides discussed prospects of Armenia-EU relations in the context of democratic transformations in Armenia.
According to news.am, Jean-Claude Juncker noted that the peaceful and democratic bias of Armenia’s developments had inspired them, and expressed readiness to continue supporting the reform process in the country.
Thankful for the assistance provided over the past several years, Pashinyan assured that from now on EU’s institutional, financial and advisory support will be used more effectively.
