Farming Activities to Be Arranged in Georgian Prisons

The Georgian Farmer's Association announced its initiative to arrange farming activities in Georgian prisons. The first stage includes building greenhouses in Rustavi women’s prison and Ksani prison.

The aim of the project is to motivate prisoners and help them to acquire practical skills in the farming sector. Moreover, it will increase prisoners’ chances of finding employment after their release. Prisoners will have the opportunity to either develop their own farming activities or apply soft-skills gained from this project in the labor market.

The project will be implemented in August.
