Sweelinck Orchestra Performs in Tbilisi

The J. Pzn Sweelinck Orchestra of the University of Amsterdam established in 1878 performed in Tbilisi on July 22 as a part of the City Hall’s project under Tbilisi Sky.

The orchestra performed Richard Wagner’s Der Ring Des Nibelungen without words.

This was the first time the composition was performed in Georgia.  In addition the Sweelinck Orchestra performed some Georgian compositions, Tbilisi City Hall said.

What is more important the concert was free of charge and took place in Vake Park.

The project Under Tbilisi Sky is a new cultural and art platform by Tbilisi City Hall which aims to make cultural events publicly accessible  and create a vibrant cultural life in the city.
