Paintings by Georgian Urban Artist Go on Display in Tbilisi
More than 70 art pieces, made for their specially selected texture from watercolour, pigment and oil are going on display in Tbilisi.
After successfully participating in a group exhibition, Victoria, Vakho Bugadze with Oleg Timchenko and Ushangi Khumarashvili, returns to the National Museum Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery in a solo exhibition called Suburb.
The exhibition showcases around 70 works created in the last two years. The works showcase the visualised memories of the artist.
Bugadze works with different media, such as painting, drawing and sculpture. The artist took inspiration from his immediate surroundings, the places where he spent his entire life, which were mostly nearby areas in Tbilisi.
“Series Suburb is connected to his childhood memories- the contour of the same building sunk in the twilight appears nearly on every canvas. This is the childhood icon of the major life event, when a little boy suddenly moved from the miniature old Tbilisi district to a completely different urban environment which was overlaid with memories and fantasies,” the National Museum published.
The exhibition will open on September 10th until October 9th.
Address: Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery, 11 Shota Rustaveli Avenue, Tbilisi, Georgia
