Georgian Finance Minister Meets with Japanese Ambassador
Georgia’s Finance Minister, Ivane Machavariani, met yesterday with Japan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia, Tadaharu Uehara.
It was the pair’s first meeting and saw the discussion of issues of cooperation between Georgia and Japan and reforms implemented by the Government of Georgia.
The talks touched on the priorities of the Japanese government in Georgia, such as: energy, environmental protection, health care, agriculture, information technology, education and the tourism sector.
The meeting also focused on current and future projects in the road infrastructure sector.
Both Machavariani and Uehara expressed hope that Georgia's export potential and attractive investment environment will contribute to continued dynamic cooperation between the two countries in bilateral and multilateral formats.
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) plays an active role in financing development projects in Georgia, including in the fields of renewable energy, agriculture, and infrastructure.
