Georgian PM Meets Latvian Ambassador
Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia, had a meeting with Ingrīda Levrence, Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Latvia to Georgia, to discuss thed upcoming visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia to Georgia, the positive trend of bilateral relations, and reforms implemented in the country.
Bakhtadze noted that the visit of Minister Edgars Rinkevics, who will arrive in Tbilisi on August 6-7 to mark 10 years since the Russian-Georgian war in August 2008, is deemed a sign of support and friendship by the Government of Georgia.
The PM’s Press Office reports that the meeting was focused on further development prospects in bilateral economic relations.
It was noted that direct air flights between the two countries contribute to the intensified cooperation in this area, as well as to tourism.
The sides also discussed Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations and the progress achieved by Georgia towards European integration.
Ingrīda Levrence praised the Green Economy Concept presented by the PM a week ago, while Bakhtadze expressed interest towards sharing the successful experience of Latvia in the referred area, including forest management.
