France Reaffirms its Support to Georgia
The French authorities released through their embassy strong support to Georgia on the anniversary of the Auguat 2008 war.
“Ten years after the conflict between Georgia to Russia, France reiterates its support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders, and calls on Russia to implement its commitments ratified on August 12 and September 8, in 2008”.
France also said that any recognition of the de facto authorities will be a violation of international law, as the Georgian breakaway regions are part of Georgia.
Additionally, “France will continue to work in favor of a peaceful solution” based on International Law, and remains strongly opposed to any militarization in the regions.
