Internationally Renowned Georgian Opera Star to Perform Charity Concert in Tbilisi
Prominent Georgian opera singer, Nino Surguladze, is in Tbilisi to hold a charity concert with international opera stars.
On September 13, Surguladze will perform with six of the world’s megastars at the Tbilisi Concert Hall to help children in need of medical care.
Surguladze made her operatic debut as Cuniza in Verdi's 'Oberto' and Zulma in Rossini's 'L'italiana in Algeri' in Milan in 2002. She went on to sing at numerous opera houses and festivals throughout the world, including Teatro alla Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, the Salzburg Festival, Arena di Verona and the Sferisterio Opera Festival.
Together with Placido Domingo, Ruggero Raimondi and Vittorio Grigolo, she starred in Rigoletto a Mantova (it), a TV version of Verdi's opera shot in Mantua in 2010.
Accompanying Surguladze is Woody Allen's favorite tenor - Fabio Armiliato, Daniela Dessì- a world opera diva, Alberto Gazale – baritone, Francesca Dego – violin, maestro Daniele Rustioni, and the Opera Symphony Orchestra.
All money raised from the concert will go to Surguladze’s Charity Foundation “Desire Tree”.
