The World Says Farewell to the “Queen of Soul”

Aretha Franklin, also known as the "Queen of Soul" has died at age 76 because of an advanced pancreatic cancer.

Self-taught pianist, singer and songwriter, Franklin had conquered its audience since the late ‘60s, being the “Queen of Soul” forever. She was famous for “Think”, “I say a Little Prayer” and “Respect”, those songs renowned the world over.

The family said: "We have lost the matriarch and rock of our family. The love she had for her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins knew no bounds."

Celebrities also reacted to the death of the Queen of Soul. For instance, Lionel Richie said in a tweet “Her voice; her presence; her style. No one did it better. Truly the Queen of Soul. I will miss you”

Funeral details will be announced in the coming days
