Bakhtadze Appoints New Regional Governors

Today, Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze officially presented his appointments for new governors to seven regions of Georgia.

Shalva Kereselidze – Mtskheta-Mtianeti

Shota Rekhviashvili – Kvemo Kartli

Besik Amirkhanashvili – Samtskhe-Javakheti

Giorgi Khojevanishvili – Shida Kartli

Alexandre Motserelia – Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti

Zurab Nasaraia – Guria

Shavlego Tabatadze – Imereti

In the midst of a government reshuffle when Bakhtadze first took office, the governors of Shida Kartli, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti were dismissed from their positions on July 26.

“Due to the goals our government has set, new approaches are needed in terms of coordination with the management in the regions and the central government," Bakhtadze said at a press conference announcing the dismissals.
