Georgia Congratulates Ukraine on Independence Day

Georgian Prime Minister, Mamuka Bakhtadze, congratulated Ukrainian authorities and people on Independence Day on August 24.

He expressed hope that day will come when Ukrainian and Georgian people will celebrate their regained territorial integrity and sovereignty.

“We - Georgians - have the best understanding of this pain. We know the value of independence and freedom. I wish to congratulate the Independence Day to Ukraine and every Ukrainian - our friends in Ukraine. I am confident that day will come when Ukrainian and Georgian people will by all means celebrate freedom and independence within their regained territorial integrity and sovereignty. Our choice is peace and building of a European state. It is a historic, civilization choice. The same applies to Ukraine,” the PM’s statement reads.

President Giorgi Margvelashvili also congratulated Ukrainians.
