Crazy Samba Coming to Tbilisi
Guests and residents of Tbilisi are looking forward to a vivid performance of "crazy samba" by the well-known jazz funk-trio Azymuth from Rio de Janeiro on 28 September.
The evening will be held at the multifunctional Republic center, and tickets can be purchased at the club itself, as well as online at tkt.ge.
The trio Azymuth and their work, a real gift for connoisseurs of intellectual Brazilian sound, worked with world-class stars, including Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea and George Duke.
In the discography of Azymuth, more than three dozen albums have been released, and the history of the band continues from the mid-1970s. In 2012, one of the founders died, keyboardist Jouza Roberto Bertrami, but five years later the band returned with a new album, with the symbolic name Fênix.
Azymuth's music is a unique mix of jazz, funk, electronics and Brazilian musical traditions. Musicians prefer to call their music samba doido, which means "crazy samba". The main tracks of the Brazilian trio are In My Treehouse, Diz No Pe and E Mulher.
