Buenos Aires to Name Square in Tbilisi’s Honor
The Foreign Ministry of Georgia announced yesterday that the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina will name a public square after the capital city Tbilisi (Tiflis in Spanish) in honor of Georgia’s 100-year anniversary of independence.
Representatives from the Buenos Aires Provincial Assembly shared the decision with Georgian Ambassador to Argentina Irakli Kurashvili during a meeting with Argentine MPs held at the Embassy of Georgia.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Provincial Assembly, Francisco Quintana, presented Ambassador Kurashvili with a ceremonial diploma issued by the local legislature. Kurashvili thanked the Assembly for its decision.
Discussions followed focused on the cooperation between the two countries and prospects for their development. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of deepening and intensifying bilateral relations at the parliamentary level, which in turn will promote further strengthening of relations between Georgia and Argentina.
