70th Session of the UN General Assembly to Open Today
70 years have passed since the United Nations was created.
The organization at its Headquarters in New York is hosting its 70th session, which will be opened today. According to the UN's official information, the General Committee will meet tomorrow and the general debates will be held during 28 September - 6 October.
Notably, the 70th General Assembly of the UN will be attended by various world leaders including the US and Russian presidents. Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko will be also present, who is expected to meet with Barack Obama to discuss the crisis in Ukraine. The Pope Francis will also attend the session.
Georgian delegation will also be participating in the work sessions and official meetings as the representative of the UN member country.
The UN General Assembly annual sessions are held every Fall.
