Georgian President's Respect for Estonia's Support
After the President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili, met with Estonia’s President, Kersti Kaljulaid, in Tbilisi, Margvelashvili was nothing but thankful for her consistent support of Georgia. The meeting emphasized potential ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between Georgia and Estonia, challenges in Euro-Atlantic security, the outcomes of the Russian occupation, non-recognition policy of the occupied territories, and once again Estonia’s Georgian support.
During their meeting, Kaljulaid iterated her strong faith that Georgia will be able to find methods to speed up European and Euro-Atlantic integration, including meeting the terms of the DCFTA with the European Union and continuing reform. She made it clear that she fully stands with Georgia and its role internationally in terms of European integration. These two countries are on the same page. Both Estonia and Georgia recognize the importance of the Black Sea area for Euro-Atlantic security. Further, both countries are cognizant and supportive of the fact that Georgia plays a legitimate role in the security of the Black Sea region and also the Euro-Atlantic space.
Margvelashvili showed utter respect for Kaljulaid due to her recognition and steadfast support of Georgia.
