PM Meets US Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn
Within the framework of the official visit to the United States, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze met with US Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn.
The sides discussed the US-Georgia strategic partnership and emphasized the high level bilateral political relations.
Bakhtadze thanked Senator Cornyn for supporting the 2019 State Foreign Operations and Related Programs Appropriation Bill increasing support for Georgia from $105 million to $125 million.
Georgia's ongoing and planned reforms, the country's role in the region, and the potential for intensifying economic ties were also mentioned during the meeting.
Bakhtadze and Cornyn also discussed regional developments.
The meeting in the Senate was attended by Georgia's Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani and Georgia's Ambassador to the US Davit Bakradze.
