PM Chairs 9th Meeting of Investors' Council

Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze chaired the 9th meeting of the Investors' Council on October 1.

The main topic of the discussions was the establishment of Commercial Chambers within Courts of Law and insolvency reform.

Judiciary reform and  the significance of Commercial Chambers to increase the flexibility and effectiveness of commercial dispute resolution was also discussed by the participants.

The Investors Council also focused on the consultations related to the insolvency reform, which are coming to a clos, with the ultimate Draft Law wexpected to be submitted to the Parliament of Georgia in the near future. They also discussed the temporary employment of Georgian nationals within the European Union.

The Draft Organic Law of Georgia on Agricultural Land was also on the agenda of the meeting. It was noted that criteria for exemptions from restrictions envisaged in the Draft Organic Law towards the title ownership of agricultural land parcels should be made known to potential investors at the outset.
