Presidential Candidate Debates
The presidential candidate of Georgia, former head of parliament David Usupashvili suggested that one of the main contenders for the post of head of state, Salome Zurabishvili, supported by the ruling party, hold a debate.
Earlier, Zurabishvili expressed a desire to take part in debates with the "dark forces", by which she means the United National Movement and European Georgia - Freedom Movement parties, including their candidates.
“Salome Zurabishvili decided to call on the “dark forces ”for a debate in order to appear light on their background. I suggest that Mrs. Salome agree to the debate not with the “dark ones ”, but with me.” –said Usupashvili
Salome Zurabishvili has not yet responded to the proposal. As for her debates with Vashadze and Bakradze, they are scheduled for October 24 on the First Channel.
According to various sociological studies, the main competitors in the elections are Zurabishvili, Vashadze and Bakradze. At the same time, the ruling party "Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia" is confident that Zurabishvili will win in the first round, with which the opposition categorically disagrees.
