GD Survey: Zurabishvili Gets 53% of Votes
Ruling party Georgian Dream (GD) has conducted a survey regarding the October 28 Presidential elections, which predicts that independent candidate Salome Zurabishvili, who is supported by the GD, will win in the first round with 53% of votes.
The information was released by Mamuka Mdinaradze, one of the leaders if the party, on Thursday.
According to Mdinaradze, the GD internal survey results show that Grigol Vashadze, presidential candidate of the United Opposition, will be the second with 19%, followed by Davit Bakradze with 17%.
“Since there is high interest from the media and society, we have made a decision to make the survey results public,” he noted.
According to the MP, 48% of respondents have not decided yet who they will vote for.
Mdinaradze claims these results mean that the opposition United National Movement (UNM) is aware of their “low chances and they decided not to carry out a revolutionary scenario, which they were planning to do and they abolished the planned manifestation.”
