The Prime Minister on Implementing Reforms of Association Agreement

At the European Union Integration Commission meeting on Monday, October 22, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated that the reforms of the Association Agreement with the European Union and the Association Agenda are being successfully put to work.  During the meeting, the Prime Minister iterated that the legislative and institutional approximation reforms are being implemented in Georgia with the EU—a significant facet of full integration.  

Bakhtadze discussed many important factors and upcoming events that are key to Georgia’s integration and how that integration can come to fruition.  For example, the meeting at the European Commission in Brussels on November 21 is vital in Georgia's sectoral integration with the EU.  Further, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is crucial in how Georgia gets integrated.  According to the Prime Minister, it is important that each agency creates an effective document for strategy.  

While at the meeting, Commission members heard a six-month report regarding the implementation of the Association Agenda and Association Agreement along with the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area on implementation of the 2018 National Action Plan of the Association Agreement and its Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Component implementation of the Association Agreement and Association Agenda.  

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia presented the 2018 Action Plan for the communication strategy of European Union and NATO Membership.   The plan includes a six-month report and 2018 Action Plan for the Single Support Framework for EU support to Georgia (2017-2020).
