Georgia UN Representation Discredits Claims of Bolton's Concerns
The Permanent Representation of Georgia to the United Nations Organization has released a statement regarding the recent visit of US National Security Advisor John Bolton to Georgia. The statement address what they call "misinformation" that Bolton expressed concern or doubt about Georgian military procurement.
The statement reads:
This morning, an anonymous source reported that John Bolton had expressed concern about the purchase of defense armament by Georgia. We declare with full responsibility that this is absolutely false information. The spread of misinformation by a suspicious private blog is a classic attempt to harm the Georgia-US strategic partnership, which has especially positively developed in recent years and is at the highest level of bilateral relations. John Bolton’s visit to Georgia was very successful and our bilateral strategic partnership will move to a new level in the field of cooperation in the defense and security areas.
