Zurabishvili Admits She Has No Plans if Elected
Independent candidate for president Salome Zurabishvili is one of the two candidates remaining in a large, competitive field, who will compete in the upcoming runoff election for President of Georgia.
After a reportedly tense meeting at Georgian Dream headquarters on Wednesday, Zurabishvili was asked by reporters about her plans if elected president. She shot back, "Why should I tell you about my plans in the street? I will speak about it when I outline my plans." The response indicates that Zurabishvili has not yet outlined a strategic plan for her potential future role.
Although Zurabishvili is technically independent, she is supported, financially and verbally, by the ruling Georgian Dream party.
Zurabishvili also refused to say whether she personally took part in the meeting at the party headquarters, attended by secretive billionaire and party leader Bidzina Ivanishvili.
She did, however, express her full confidence that she will win in the second round of elections.
