Second International Doll Festival Closes in Tbilisi
The International Doll Festival 'ArtDoll' was held in Tbilisi on November 2-4.
ArtDoll Tbilisi officially opened at the Zurab Tsereteli Museum of Modern Art. The ceremony was attended by Mikheil Giorgadze, First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport. This is the second time the festival has been held. The exhibition hall of the Folklore State Center of Georgia exhibited the works of famous Georgian and foreign doll makers from Estonia, Russia, Czech Republic, Latvia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan.
The fesitval presented the works of twenty of Georgia's best artists. Handmade dolls are popular in the art world. The finest examples are preserved in the world's most precious collections and museums.
The festival was organized by "Geodoll" and is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Tbilisi City Hall, the Folklore State Center of Georgia, and the National Tourism Administration within the project Check in Georgia.
