Marneuli Hosts Final Europe Day Event for 2018

Last weekend, the sixth and final Europe Days Georgia event was held in Marneuli. More than 3,000 people attended the event, organized by the EU Delegation to the country.

Europe Days events were also held this year in Tbilisi, Akhaltsikhe and Batumi.

Attendees could enjoy a number of informational activities, including a special 'kids' zone,' to learn about the diverse Member States of the EU and EU-Georgia cooperation. Adults had the opportunity to sample local foods and learn more about how the EU is helping create more opportunities for Georgian citizens. Beneficiaries of the European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) from Tetritskaro also participated in the event and presented their EU-funded agricultural and rural development products:  honey, different types of wine, chacha, whiskey, apple brandy (calvados); raspberries, etc. Moreover, the ENPARD tent was staffed by the members of EU-supported Tetritskaro rural development project, Local Action Group (LAG), beneficiaries of employment programme, and youth from the municipality’s young farmers’ centers organized and run by the EU’s partner organization RDFG.

EU Ambassador to Georgia, Carl Hartzell and the Governor of Kvemo Kartli Shota Rekhviashvili officially opened the Europe Day event and visited the stands of the participants.
