NATO Deputy Secretary General Says Georgia Is a Model Country
NATO Deputy Secretary General, Rose Gottemoeller, stated that Georgia is a model country, adding it should maintain its pace for NATO integration, which in its turn will facilitate reaching a consensus within the Alliance.
Gottemoeller made the statement at the 64th Annual NATO PA Annual session which took place in Canada on November 16-19.
“NATO holds the door open and the 2008 Bucharest Summit decision is valid – Georgia will become a NATO member,” the NATO Deputy Secretary General underlined.
Gottemoller thanked Georgia for its contribution to the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, noting that Georgia is a key actor for the security and stability of the Black Sea region.
The Parliamentary Delegation to NATO PA, composed of Irakli Sesiashvili, Sophio Katsarava and Giorgi Kandelaki, attended the session.
