Georgia Ranked 8th in Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Young Georgian singer Tamar Edilashvili ranked 8th at the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Minsk on 25 November.
Performing the song ‘Your Voice’ in English and Georgian, the young singer was popular among voters in Russia, Ireland, and Israel, from whom she received the highest possible points. She totaled 144 points in the competition, beating Armenia by 19 points.
Tamar Edilashvili was born in Tbilisi in 2005, she is currently in the 7th grade at the NK School Lyceum whilst studying at the E. Mikeladze Central Music School Vocal Faculty.
A record 20 countries took part in the contest in Minsk. Wales and Kazakhstan performed for the first time. Roksana Wegiel from Poland was crowned the winner with her performance of “Anyone I want to be.”
