CEC Says Polling Stations Are Ready for Presidential Runoff
Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia has declared that 3,703 polling stations throughout the country are ready to receive voters on November 28, when the second round of October 28 presidential elections are to be held.
CEC spokesperson Ana Mikeladze stated two polling stations were opened in Afghanistan for Georgian troops serving there.
“At 08:00 tomorrow morning, all electoral precincts will be ready to serve voters. Ballot papers have been handed out to Electoral districts printed in Georgian, Armenian, and Azerbaijani, and trilingual ballot papers (Georgian-Azerbaijani-Armenian) have been printed for certain precincts. The process of handing out the electoral documentation and relevant materials to precincts is being actively launched. Precincts are equipped with all necessary inventory,” she stated.
Mikeladze added that the total number of voters for the 28 November elections is 3,528,658.
About 17,000 representatives of electoral subjects, more than 48,500 local and over 1300 international observers will monitor the elections. The electoral process will be covered by 2,300 journalists.
The polling stations will close at 8 pm on November 28.
