GD, Opposition Both Sure to Win Elections
United Opposition, which consists of several parliamentary and non-parliamentary opposition parties, and the ruling Georgian Dream (GD), are both sure their candidates will win the November 28 Presidential elections.
Giorgi Vashadze, Head of the Election Headquarters of the opposition candidate Grigol Vashadze, says the United Opposition has 20,000 trained persons to prevent all mechanisms of election falsification.
“We have full technical and technological readiness to block all the mechanisms of falsification of GD. We have a parallel Central Election Commission in order to prevent the office, which serves the Georgian Dream, from falsifying the elections,” he stated.
Meanwhile, ex-President of Georgia and the founder of the former ruling party United National Movement (UNM), Mikheil Saakashvili, says that Vashadze is sure win.
“We have a few hours before victory. I'm very hopeful of your patriotism, your dignity. Georgia needs change. The country is at the edge of death and only tomorrow's victory and the change which will follow this victory, will save it," Saakashvili told Georgian society.
The ruling Georgian Dream is also sure that their backed candidate Salome Zurabishvili will gain victory in the runoff.
"The pre-election process is quite aggressive and misleading, but we have no doubts about the results of the elections,” MP Gia Volsky, member of the parliamentary majority, said.
The election process will be launched in Georgia at 8 am on November 28.
