7.26% Voter Turnout at 10 AM, Reports CEC
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has reported that 7.26% of the total number of voters had cast their ballot for the presidential run-off by 10 am.
Two hours after the polling stations were opened, 255,251 voters took to the polls to choose between Georgian Dream supported candidate Salome Zurabishvili and Grigol Vashadze from UNM.
The turnout is so far higher than the first round of the presidential elections on October 28. The voter turnout at the same time then stood at 6.15% whilst the final turnout was 46.83%.
Districts Gldani and Samgori have reported the highest voter turnout with 8.4% each whilst Vake and Krtsanisi have reported 6.9%, the lowest turnout.
3,528,658 voters are registered to vote in the Presidential runoff, with 3,703 polling stations across Georgia and abroad. The results will be released tomorrow.
