Four Investigations into Crime at Polling Stations
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has released a statement that police are investigating four alleged acts of crime at polling stations.
Police are investigating a physical assault at a polling station in Mtskheta and physical confrontation at a polling station in Batumi. Those accused are from both the opposition and the ruling party.
In their statement, released on 28 November, they have underlined that investigative procedures are ongoing and the public will be informed about further outcomes in due course. Police forces were placed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs at polling stations throughout the day
Aside from these cases, elections in Georgia have been held in a peaceful environment at this stage, says the report. Voting for the presidential candidate closes at 8 PM across Georgia.
