United Opposition to Hold Protest Rally on Sunday
The United Opposition, the presidential candidate of which, Grigol Vashadze, came second in the November 28 presidential race, has scheduled a protest rally on Rustaveli Avenue on Sunday.
The information was released by Vashadze, who claims he does not recognize the election results.
Vashadze claims that Georgia does not have a President as he does not recognize the legitimacy of the elections and is calling for early parliamentary elections.
“No matter what enters the presidential palace, this will not be the president and we do not have any political and moral obligations towards this indecent being,” he stated during a meeting with the United Opposition supporters in Philharmonic Hall.
During the November 28 runoff elections, after which ruling Georgian Dream supported Salome Zurabishvili became the first female president of Georgia with 59.52% of votes, Vashadze got 40.48%.
